Pinguicula
As of now we primarily sell Mexican Pinguicula. They go in a "dormancy" state during the winter and in a carnivorous state during the summer. There is a lot a variety and they can hybridize quite easily.

At The Bestiole Lounge, we use an inorganic substrate composed of two parts perlite and vermiculite, and one part fine sand, pozzolana, and aqualit. However, many substrates can work well depending on your growing conditions. The most important thing is to make sure that the substrate contains no fertilizer.

Like other carnivorous plants, you will need to use pure water. The best options are rainwater, reverse osmosis water, or distilled water. Here at The Bestiole Lounge, we use ZeroWater filters.
During their carnivorous phase, make sure the substrate is always moist but not soggy. During their dormant phase, you can let the substrate dry out completely for a short period before watering again.

Pinguicula need plenty of light to develop their colors. We use artificial lighting placed about 8 inches above the plants.
-
Pinguicula can be prone to browning heart disease and crown rot. To prevent this, avoid wetting the crown. Water from the bottom of the pot and ensure good ventilation.
